T-Pain, Swizz Beatz, Rick Ross, Busta Rhymes, Diddy, Nicki Minaj, Fabolous, Jadakiss, and Fat Joe join the winners’ circle on the star-studded remix to DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win.”
Young Money label mate discusses many topics in the above interview, including the “First Lady” Nicki Minaj and whether or not she has hit on her before.
Here’s the full leaked version of “Dang-A-Lang” which is off of Trina’s upcoming album, “Amazin’”. Earlier in the year the leaked Nicki Minaj verse for the track was posted all over the web, and now here is a lightly tagged version of the track.
Vibe recently caught up with Nicki Minaj who had some interesting advice for the non-Nicki fans, what she loved about her “Massive Attack” video and her plan to focus more on her music.
Q: What can women get away with in hip-hop that men can’t?
A: I have a lot of freedom to be crazy. I can rap in a London accent, make weird faces, wear spandex, wigs, and black lipstick. I can be more creative than the average male rapper. And I can show my boobs. Guys can’t do that.
Q: You sign your fans’ breasts at shows. Do their boyfriends get jealous?
A: If anything, boys are telling me to sign their girls’ boobs. I’ve gone through 15 markers in a single night—because the girls are usually sweating, and a marker will stop writing if the girls are wet.
Q: As an openly bisexual rapper, do you think hip-hop is getting more gay-friendly?
A: I think the world is getting more gay-friendly, so hip-hop is too. But it’s harder to imagine an openly gay male rapper being embraced. People view gay men as having no street credibility. But I think we’ll see one in my lifetime.
Q: Having studied theater in high school, what would you say is the difference between rapping and acting?
A: With me, there really isn’t one. I look at rap as an opportunity to act. My head is full of different characters—in each song I’m auditioning a character.
Q: On Twitter you follow a bunch of Nicki Minaj fan groups. Ever get tired of reading so many tweets about yourself?
A: Hell no! It says a lot that someone took the time to dedicate a page to me. And it’s useful. Anything I do, they post a link to it right away. I don’t need to Google myself.
VIBE has confirmed that Sean “Diddy” Combs has signed on as Nicki Minaj’s new manager.
News broke a week ago that the Young Money rapper sent her former manager, Debbie Antney, a termination letter via a lawyer, stating that Antney could no longer conduct business for her.
Earlier this month, Nicki dropped out of a tour with Rihanna and pop newcomer Ke$ha, stating on her Twitter account (@NickiMinaj): “Barbz I’m sorry 2 say I will not be going out on RiRi’s tour. I’ve decided 2 use that time 4 the completion of my album.”
The rapper is currently prepping her much anticipated debut and recently released the lead single and music video, “Massive Attack,” featuring Sean Garrett. The producer told VIBE recently, “[When] I first played that ‘Massive Attack’ [for Nicki], I could tell that she was trying to be cool like ‘I can’t tell [him] that shit is that crazy.’ And her assistant was like, ‘Yo Nicki, you need to go back to that record.’”
According to Billboard, Diddy is also reportedly managing Rick Ross, whose upcoming album, Teflon Don, drops on June 29.
The veteran mogul is scheduled to release his own project, Last Train To Paris, that same month.

It’s great to me. I’ve never done XXL, so it’s exciting. And to be doing it with Nicki, man, that’s my dog. That’s more than my dog. That’s, like, we have the most interesting relationship, ’cause it’s so multilayered. That’s my co-worker, my peer, my family. But, at the same time, on any given day, she’s, like, the love of my life… Nicki’s a very intriguing character. To be doing it with her is great, man.
Lil Wayne signed her to his label, Mariah Carey and Usher put her in their videos, and now Robin Thicke is singing the praises of Nicki Minaj.
It was the smooth operator’s pal Jay-Z who first put him up on the Young Money femcee, who he affectionately calls Ninja. The two ended up collaborating on the Polow Da Don-produced “Shakin’ It 4 Daddy,” which he plans to release as the next U.S. single from his Sex Therapy album.
Like many, Thicke fell for the hip-hop Barbie. “Nicki is a very, very special young lady,” he tells Rap-Up.com. “Not only is she incredibly talented and sexy and charming, but she’s also a really good person and she’s very smart, so I think she’s gonna have a very long career.”
Before we get to see his on-screen chemistry with Minaj, the new father will team up with another rap star, Snoop Dogg, in the video for “It’s in the Mornin’,” filmed last month in Malibu.
BET’s Spring Bling 2010 will be airing on tv starting April 16th, but they have already started filming some of the performances. On Saturday Nicki Minaj kicked off Spring Bling with a performance in South Florida. She took to twitter to share with her followers the festive shoes she wore on stage:
We found out that she is wearing the Joie Lace Up Wedge w/Fringe. Nicki has on the Multi Print on Cream style. I love the graphic print on them in the rainbow of colors – very different. The espadrille style wedge is hot again this season (so is the lace-up), and the platform makes them more comfortable on the feet. Get these now at Opening Ceremony for $540.
