Welcome to Jamrock! Jamaican-American star Sean Kingston lights up the dance floor with his fellow islander Nicki Minaj in the teaser for “Letting Go (Dutty Love),” the dancehall-flavored single from his upcoming album.

The 20-year-old singer revealed that he has a crush on the Young Money rapper. “I just think that Nicki Minaj is beautiful,” he told Rap-Up TV. “Ya’ll don’t be shocked if you hear that Nicki Minaj and Sean Kingston is going out.”

No more catchy little raps?? I’m elated! If she goes back to her roots and tones down the Nightmare on Elm Street antics there may be hope for a real femcee to get mainstream notoriety in this day in age. I’m hoping when she tells her story that she does it in english and doesn’t make up words like:

“bestest”

“todd-lor”

“bahn da bon bon oh”

I could go on but I’ll stop there. Swizz Beatz already spoke candidly about working with Minaj on her debut and she unveiled another producer on the album in this interview:

“I don’t want to say too much, but I just did some work with will.i.am. Just something for my album that I’m really excited about.”

She’s definitely calling on all the hit makers. I’m still stuck on the fact that she knows she does “catchy little raps.” Operative word here is “little.”

Nicki Minaj is calling in the heavy hitters for her debut. After helping Usher and his own group the Black Eyed Peas top the charts, will.i.am is extending his hitmaking skills to the Young Money rapper.

“I don’t want to say too much, but I just did some work with will.i.am,” Minaj revealed to EW.com. However, she wouldn’t elaborate whether the Black Eyed Peas frontman is producing and/or lending his vocals to their collaboration, saying, “Just something for my album that I’m really excited about.”

Without spilling any additional names, she described the project’s overall direction. “The album is much more emotional than you anticipate, which is a great thing,” she added. “And I know women are gonna connect to the album so much. SAN DIEGO — There’s little doubt that Bruce Willis is a bona fide movie star, and the latest proof of his celebrity status is the shout-out he receives in Nicki Minaj’s single “Your Love.” “And for your lovin’ I’mma Die Hard like Bruce Willis,” the chorus proclaims. As it turns out, Willis reacts similarly when pop stars give him props.

“I can’t get enough songs on the radio that have my name in it,” he told MTV during their Thursday live stream from Comic-Con. “It’s always an honor. I love that song. I don’t understand it, but I can understand my name.”

Considering Willis told MTV that “Die Hard 5″ is “imminent,” Minaj could not have picked a better time to put “Bruce Willis” and “Die Hard” in the same sentence.

While Willis said he appreciates — but doesn’t quite understand — Minaj’s songs, he said that he wouldn’t be returning to the music world anytime soon. Anyone holding out for Willis to star in Hollywood’s next big musical should continue to hold their breath, too, as he said the chance of him singing on the big screen is “highly doubtful.”

And you also bring artists together for monster remixes. But you’ve never had an all-female rapper all-star track. What gives?
It’s not about male-female, it’s about what I’m feeling at that moment or what I have planned to make that record. Nicki Minaj, she’s on my remix to “All I Do Is Win.” I worked with Lil Kim for “We Takin’ Over (Remix).” There’s only a few females out here in today’s age, in today’s time, that’s hurting the game. Maybe one day I’ll put an all-female collabo one day.

What do you think about Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim’s rivalry?
I don’t get into controversy too much. I love Nicki Minaj, I love Lil Kim. I don’t think they sound like each other. They’re both great MCs, I would love to see them do a record together. I want to see if I can make that happen, if on my next album I can make Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj do a record together, featuring DJ Khaled. That might be the biggest record in the game.

Hey, I made Beanie Sigel and Jadakiss do a record together on my first album. I do these things. Records like that, to bring people together, people respect it ’cause they know I represent that love. I’ma reach out to Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim and try to pull that record together for y’all.

Irv Gotti recently spoke about his thoughts on Nicki Minaj’s talent, comparing the new Young Money artist to Grammy-winning singer Lauryn Hill. Irv, known for helping rappers like Ja Rule and singers like Ashanti, thinks Nicki is the full package.

“The world has yet to see the best of Nicki Minaj. What she’s delivering to the world now is basically what they want. But I know that she’s a super talented superstar who can do anything at a high level–rap, sing, act, whatever she wants to do. This is just the beginning of Nicki Minaj. Her best is yet to come. In my opinion she is as talented as my other girl Lauryn Hill. They have completely different styles. But as far as the talent is concerned they both can do it all. Nicki just isn’t showing it yet ’cause she doesn’t want to. But world be prepared ’cause she’s the truth.”

You can add John Legend to the growing members of Team Barbie. The R&B crooner is vocalizing his support for hip-hop’s reigning femcee.

When asked whether he preferred Nicki Minaj or Lil’ Kim, the diplomatic singer told The Huffington Post, “Well right now Nicki Minaj, but you know there’s a time and place for everybody. I feel like this is Nicki’s time right now, but Kim had a nice run.”

Nicki Minaj signed on to Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment in 2009 so it only makes sense that she collaborates with Jay Sean who is signed on to Lil Wayne’s Cash Money Records.

Though the Young Money captain is currently locked away on Rikers Island in New York for gun possession charges, Weezy’s newest letter to his fans illustrates his ear is always glued to the street, especially when it comes to the Young Money crew like Nicki Minaj.

With Drake’s “Thank Me Later” debut hitting the gold mark in 14 days and Nicki Minaj’s colorful guest verses circulating throughout the industry, Wayne made sure to recognize the two youngsters’ hard work.

“I applaud my Young Money family for what they’re doing,” Weezy wrote. “As I’m not surprised. This is what we’re supposed to do.”

Trey Songz and Nicki Minaj recently dropped the rollicking, bass-heavy collaboration
“Bottoms Up” and the stars wasted no time hitting the web to chat about how the duo hooked up. Hours after sites posted the song from Songz’ upcoming Passion, Pain & Pleasure album, the singer spoke directly to fans on Tuesday from his Ustream page about the track. After conferencing in Nicki Minaj, who was at work in the studio, they broke down the whirlwind creation of the song.

“I’m in L.A. for BET [Awards] weekend, I’m working on a couple records, and I do this song called ‘Red Lipstick,’ and then I do ‘Bottoms Up’ the next day,” Trey recalled of his recording session. “I hit Nicki Minaj and I’m like, ‘Man, I’ve got these two incredible records, I think one of them is gonna be my first single, and I need you to do it. Can you come this weekend? Can you come down?’

“I stayed a couple extra days and she came through,” he said. “Two, three days later I got a verse back that was just stupid.” Songz then addressed the MC directly and said, “I fell in love with you. When I heard the verse, I was like, ‘Oh my s—, I love her. She killed it.’ ”

Nicki Minaj chimed in and noted that fans had been waiting for the stars to team up. “Every day, people say, ‘When you gonna collaborate with Trey?’ For some strange reason they wanted to see that collaboration,” Minaj said. “So, when you hit me, I was very excited. I just thought, ‘This is our time.’ ”

While breaking down her side of the recording process, Nicki Minaj revealed that she paid special attention to her verse. “I lived with it,” she explained. “I kept on hitting you like, ‘I’mma have it done today.’ I think I did live with it for, like, three days because I was changing it up, I couldn’t get it. But then, all of a sudden, something just hit me.”

Her animated delivery brings boatloads of swagger to the track, but Nicki Minaj said she had some doubts at first, admitting that she almost dropped a line where she mimics the loopy, breathy speech of the late Anna Nicole Smith. “I was gonna take that part out because I was like, ‘Trey is gonna think I’m crazy,’ ” she said.

But in the end, Nicki Minaj was cool with how the verse came together. “I’m just happy that I was able to do something that kinda kept that energy up,” enthused the MC, who also attributed her juiced-up flow to her rap alter ego, Roman Zolanski. “Roman is very spastic. Roman is crazy and Roman is weird and Roman doesn’t care. … The person on [DJ Khaled's] ‘All I Do Is Win’ remix, that’s Nicki, and the person on ‘Bottoms Up,’ that’s Roman.”

The pair also discussed shooting the song’s accompanying video, for which Songz said he had already drafted a treatment and roped in video director Anthony Mandler. And the duo also chatted about hitting the stage together sometime soon.

“I can’t wait ’til the first time we perform it somewhere,” Songz said.

“It’s gotta be a big moment,” Nicki Minaj insisted.

Songz agreed: “Yeah, it’s gonna be a big moment.”
