“Truffle Butter” is now No. 1 on the chart.
Nicki Minaj becomes the first female artist to chart four songs simultaneously in the top 10 of Billboard’s Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop airplay chart (dated March 28), as “Feeling Myself,” featuring Beyonce, rises 11-10. Two males had previously achieved the record: Lil Wayne (first in 2008) and Drake (2011), each of whom has quadrupled up in the top 10 in multiple weeks.
Minaj scores additional success, as “Truffle Butter” — fittingly featuring fellow record-holders and Young Money/Cash Money/Republic labelmates Drake and Lil Wayne — steps 2-1 to crown the chart. It’s Minaj’s sixth No. 1 on the chart and Drake’s record-extending 21st. Lil Wayne adds his 18th No. 1, second only to Drake’s sum.
Nicki Minaj and also Mariah Carey will take the stage at the BET Awards.
BET announced Tuesday that India. Arie and Ciara will join the former “American Idol” judges as performers at the June 30 awards show.
Previously announced performers include Chris Brown, Miguel, R. Kelly and Kendrick Lamar.
While we love the sentiment, it’s going to take an extraordinary amount of confidence to rock a skin-tight mini dress, a puffy vest and bedazzled captain hat–at the same time. However, that seems to be exactly the over-the-top look Nicki is going for with her first fashion collaboration. Add some printed leggings, babyboll dresses, bold blazers, metallic bustiers and you’ve got yourself a celebrity clothing line that’s more flashy than classy.
In the “Shop Your Way” clip, the 30-year-old rapper-cum-designer gushes over the garish garments and explains that she didn’t want fans to think she’d only be producing “crazy stuff.” But that’s all we’re seeing. Considering Nicki’s recently makeunder, we thought the line would reflect some of her toned down style, but then again this KMart partnership was inked when the star was still sporting costumes andpasties on a regular basis.

It’s no secret that Nicki Minaj has transformed her look in a major way this year. She’s stepped away from her wild styles and ridiculous ‘fits into an image that “highlights that she is a woman, a very attractive woman with a great body,” her new stylist Jerod McClairn says.
Since joining her glam squad in November, McClairn–who has also lent his sartorial know-how to Tracy McGrady, Penny Hardaway and Brandon Jennings–has become the visionary behind creating the Queen Barbie’s current look. He credits the 17 years in the entertainment industry as his preparation for his first foray into switching up a client’s image.

“I was hurt by what Nicki said, but the reason wasn’t because she was critiquing me in any negative way. I’m used to that. I do this for negative and positive criticism,” he said. “But all the comments she kept throwing out there were about my image and my outfit and my arms… and not the singing! And I thought of all people she would understand where I was coming from with this performance. It was almost hypocritical of her … She changes her image every day, you know?”
Count on Nicki Minaj to turn more than a few heads on the red carpet. In a new envelope-pushing look for her, the always outrageous Nicki channeled high fashion and religion in a strange way on tonight’s Grammy red carpet. Nicki rocked a deep red Versace cloak, covering more skin than she usually does, which offset her glowing fresh-faced makeup. Hip-hop’s Little Red Riding Hood was in the building. Even more eyebrow-raising was her choice of date, an older gentleman man decked out in a bishop’s ensemble. We can only wonder what those two chatted about on the limo ride over.
Fans took to Twitter to share their confusion. “How can I describe #NickiMinaj’s performance? Let’s say it’s a religious experience,” said one while another added “where’s the big bad wolf when you need him #nickiminaj?”
Nicki will take the stage tonight for the first time and premiere “Roman’s Holiday”, the next single from her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded sophomore album. She’s also up for one of the night’s biggest nods, Best New Artist where she’ll go head-to-head with J. Cole, The Band Perry, Bon Iver and Skrillex.
Earlier today, Nicki tweeted her love for singer Whitney Houston who died suddenly. “Jesus Christ, not Whitney Houston. Greatest of all time,” she wrote and then Twitpiced a photograph of Whitney with Michael Jackson.
