Nicki Minaj Surprises Fans at Summer Jam XX Concert After Ending Feud with Hot 97 DJ

In case you questioned whether or not Nicki Minaj‘s beef with Hot 97 was really over—here’s some evidence.

The Barbz leader made up for lost time last year by surprising fans at the radio station’s famous Summer Jam XX concert in New York City tonight.

YMCMB’s female rapper popped up on stage during 2 Chainz‘s performance to spit her verse on his track “I Love Dem Strippers.”

Afterward, Minaj delivered a few lines from her hit “Beez in the Trap,” before walking over to her former feuding partner, DJ Peter Rosenberg, and giving him a nice, long hug as she exited the stage.

Nicki made a stop at Hot 97 earlier in the week to squash whatever issues still remained between her and Rosenberg after nearly a year of tension.

The DJ apologized for throwing shade at the “Starships” rapper before she hit the Summer Jam stage last year—causing Minaj to pull out of the show completely—and the celeb responded, “It’s water under the bridge…I mean it’s so long ago. I can’t even act like I care anymore, but I appreciate you guys having me.”

And all is well again.

American Idol News
Nicki Minaj Officially Leaves ‘American Idol’

Count on Mariah Carey to beat Nicki Minaj to the punch…or on Minaj to steal Carey’s thunder.

Either way you look at it, the divas’ time butting heads on American Idol is over. Fox announced today that Minaj will not be returning to American Idol next season less than two hours after Carey’s exit was announced.

“Nicki Minaj is a superstar who brought a level of honesty and passion to American Idol and who had a tremendous positive impact on so many contestants this season,” Fox said in a statement. “Given her extremely busy career, we understand and respect her decision and wish her the best.”

Minaj tweeted after the announcement:

“Thank you American Idol for a life changing experience! Wouldn’t trade it for the world! Time to focus on the Music!!! Mmmuuuaahhh!”

Producers counted on Minaj and Carey to stir up ratings for the long-running singing competition, but their so-called feud fizzled by the end of auditions.

Jennifer Hudson has signed on to be a judge in season 13, and producers are also reportedly chasing alums like Adam Lambert and Clay Aiken to join as well. Kelly Clarkson, we’re told, had been approached but will not be taking part in the new season.

Will you miss Nicki on Idol?

Nicki Minaj Ends Feud with Hot 97 Radio DJ

Nicki Minaj is willing to play nice.

The rapper agreed to be a guest on New York City’s Hot 97 morning radio show yesterday, in an effort to clear the air and squash her almost year-long beef with DJ Peter Rosenberg, and it looked like the duo made some good progress.

After throwing some shade at the “Starships” rapper before she hit the Summer Jam stage last year—causing Minaj to pull out of the show completely—Rosenberg explained himself to the best of his ability, and wanted to make it clear that he would never speak ill of Minaj as a person.

He even shared a memory from back in the day when Nicki first got in the game, recalling that he went up to give her props and predicted that she could take over the rap game.

Minaj didn’t remember all that, but she did appreciate him taking the time to set the record straight, and simply said, “It’s water under the bridge…I mean it’s so long ago. I can’t even act like I care anymore, but I appreciate you guys having me.”

She also added that, “In hindsight…I should’ve just did the show,” and to explain why she took such offense to Rosenberg’s comment, Nicki said, “I never found you funny. I never found you entertaining. I never found you smart. I just found you annoying…To me you don’t have enough of a resumé to make those comments.”

Yes, sounds kinda harsh, but we promise that peace was made, and there might even be a possibility that Barbz will see Nicki perform at the 2013 Summer Jam concert on Sunday.

Nicki Minaj Encourages Fans to Avoid Online “Poison”

If the rumors are to believed, Nicki Minaj soon won’t have American Idol as a platform with which she can reach young fans.

She’ll be off the show almost as soon as Season 12 concludes.

But the eccentric singer does cover the latest issue of Teen Vogue, hoping her past experiences can shape the future of many followers out there.

“Every time my parents fought, my mother would have us move and I would have to go to a new school, which meant I’d have to face the task of making new friends,”

Nicki said, adding:

“I encountered jealous girls a lot. What it came down to is that the bullies wanted me to bow down to them and I just wouldn’t.”

Minaj said she got into a few fights, yet everyone knew she was not going to be “pushed around.”

But the artist has taken a different approach with virtual criticism, saying of negative messages across various social media networks:

“I used to read the bad things people said about me. Then I asked myself, ‘Why am I reading that when I have millions of people saying great things?’ You cannot give negativity power.”

Hear that, younger generation?

“I tell teens… If people keep taunting you and you keep reading it, it’s poison,” Minaj said.

Makes perfect sense to us.

Nicki Minaj To “Focus On Rap” For New Album

Nicki Minaj has revealed plans to “focus on rap” for her next studio album.

The singer has discussed plans for her third outing, explaining that she aims to avoid making pop songs for the new collection.

“I was thinking if I really wanted to, I could go back and make another pop song… but I’m choosing not to do it,” Minaj told US radio station Hot 97.

“I’m choosing to get back to my essence and feed the core hip-hop fan. I feel like I need this because it’s just a more powerful platform for me. Even when I’m on stage performing my rap songs, it’s more organic.”

She added: “I’ve been getting back to that place where I was before I dropped my first album which is ‘kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill everything’. I agree that Nicki Minaj should focus on rap… now.

However, the star insisted that she does not regret releasing pop tracks, saying: “I wanted to experiment. My whole career has been a playing field to try new things.

“I never put a limit on myself. You should be able to try whatever the hell you want, as long as you keep your integrity.”

Minaj’s new collection will serve as the follow-up to 2012’s Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, which topped the US and UK charts.
