Nicki Minaj and Mariah Carey are putting their differences aside and teaming up to find the next superstar. The dueling divas appear in the first promo for the new season of “American Idol.” The 30-second trailer includes brief clips of them at the judges’ table with fellow judges Randy Jackson and Keith Urban.

“My hair is edible,” a pink-haired Nicki is heard saying.

The 12th season of the singing competition kicks off January 16 on FOX.

Nicki Minaj braves the elements in the stylish video for her new single “Freedom,” which was shot in England. The queen of the Barbz gets caught in a windstorm and is carried off set by members of her team. She poses in an avant-garde dress against a giant wall and gets pushed through the dirt in a rickshaw. And when one of her crew members takes a fall, she gets to relive it online.

A Nicki Minaj and Ciara collaboration is coming your way by popular demand. Thanks to repeated requests from fans, the ladies have teamed up for “I’m Legit” off Nicki’s upcoming album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up.

“My fans had been asking me to work with her for a long time so I thought it’d be kinda cute,” the Young Money rapper told The BoomBox. “I’ve always thought Ciara was so dope.”

Right before the deadline, the “Sorry” singer went in the studio and was able to deliver a winning performance. “It’s like she nailed it so crazy,” said Nicki. “We were afraid that whoever would end up singing it wouldn’t really sing it exactly how we wanted it to sound, but she nailed it times 10.”

She also praised Ciara for her dance moves. “Let’s face it, she’s probably one of the best dancers that we’ve had in our generation,” proclaimed Nicki. “So that alone just makes her very iconic.”

CiCi returned the compliment. “I love Nicki, I think she’s super fly,” she told Rap-Up.com.

It’s been long rumored that a secret society controlling pop culture exists and it was finally exposed last night on Fox’s “The Cleveland Show.” Kanye West, Nicki Minaj, Bruno Mars, will.i.am, and The Roots’ ?uestlove lent their voices to the season premiere of the animated series.

In the episode, entitled “Menace II Secret Society,” Cleveland discovers the hip-hop Illuminati fronted by Kanye, reprising his role as Kenny West. After growing tired of his antics (“His ego got out of control, and this is coming from rappers,” says will.i.am), his fellow members plot to end his career with some help from Cleveland, who sets him up with his son Cleveland Jr. and his polka band. Will Kenny’s legacy be tarnished or will the plan backfire?

There are also several musical moments from the animated gang and some quotables from Kanye.

On the premiere episode, the hip-hop diva takes cameras along as she records her new album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded – The Re-Up, rehearses for her arena tour, and prepares for her first day on the job at “American Idol.”

In addition to showing who’s the boss, the business-minded femcee launches her first fragrance at Macy’s, confronts Perez Hilton about spreading rumors, and shoots the video for “The Boys.” Viewers are introduced to her crew including right-hand man Safaree and get a peek at her lavish mansion in Malibu.
