Closing out what’s been a hectic week with a morning talk show appearance, Nicki Minaj dropped by NBC Studios in New York City on Friday (April 6).
The 29-year-old first sat down alongside “Today” show anchor Matt Lauer for an interview as she continued promoting her new album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.
A bit taken aback by her outfit, Lauer asked Miss Minaj how she decides what to wear each day,to which she answered, “It’s always very impromptu. I hate planning stuff. Yesterday actually I told my stylist ‘I’ve been doing so much color recently, just get me black. Put me in black. Black, black, black everything.”
Matt then questioned the “Super Bass” singer as to whether she has a team of people plotting out her career moves or if she has her hands in everything.
Telling him that the latter is the case, Nicki said she’s a part of “every decision, every decision. I’ve always been like that since a little girl. I need to be involved. I need to understand it. I need to have everything written out for me. I need to see it. You know, I can’t just have other people make decisions for me.”
Later in the show, Minaj took the “Today” show stage twice for energetic renditions of her hit singles “Starships” and “Right By My Side” to cap off her appearance.
