Nicki Minaj set to topple Madonna at top of UK albums chart

Nicki Minaj looks set to usurp Queen of Pop Madonna at the top of the UK albums chart this weekend.

The midweek chart update released today (April 4) reveals that Minaj’s ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded’ is currently 9,000 copies of ahead of its nearest competitor – Labrinth’s ‘Electronic Earth’.

Last week’s No.1, Madonna’s ‘MDNA’, is currently placed at No.5, with Moshi Monsters’ ‘Music Rox’ and Lostprophets’ ‘Weapons’ at No.3 and No.4 respectively.

Elsewhere in the midweek albums chart, Adele’s ’21’ is veering dangerously close to slipping out of the top ten, charting at No.8, whilst Jessie J’s ‘Who You Are’ is in at No.9.

Other new entries in the chart include Orbital’s ‘Wonky’ at No.11 and Ian Anderson’s ‘Thick As A Brick 2’ at No.16.
